HPHC Institute and The Department of Population Medicine a collaborative venture between HPHC and Harvard Medical School relocated their offices to The Landmark Center. Constructed for Sears, Roebuck, and Company as their mail order and distribution center, this Art Deco Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In need of expanded office space for their researchers, doctors, clinicians, and public health professionals, they took 60,000SF on the 4th floor. Scope included; construction of 70 private offices, 200 work stations, a new HVAC system including the installation of over 100 fan coil units, and construction of a Dexa Room comprised of lead lined walls and door for patient examination. Challenges included; an aggressive 15 week schedule, working above a sports club with extended hours of operation, a building that did not allow for coring, requiring trenching over a 7 day period in the evenings. Construction was completed on schedule.
