Home For Little Wanderers

Home For Little Wanderers

Faced with an aging facility, and a need for additional space to accommodate new and expanding programs, The Home for Little Wanderers made the decision to relocate their headquarters offices from Boston to Brighton.  This 15,000SF facility houses private offices, work stations, 8 conference rooms – the largest of which features an original stain glass window from one of the Home’s first properties, 3 huddle rooms,  a private telephone room, and a Mother’s Room.  Project challenges included working within a WGBH owned, operated, and occupied facility above their vault room which houses precious historical archives and memorabilia.  In deference to the tight budget, and need for Non-Profit dollars to be allocated to core programs, Elaine devised a special sequencing plan which allowed the team to complete the project one week early, saving the Home general conditions.
