MIT Reading Room
The goal of the MIT Reading room was to accommodate a new university pedagogical directions in team/group study assignments by creating spaces where students can work collaboratively outside of the classroom environment. The project entailed inserting seven new group-study rooms into an existing 40-year-old reading room, without reducing the occupancy and flexibility of the original reading room while working on a limited budget and trying to avoid modification of the existing mechanical systems.
