Exhale Mind & Body Spa

They exceeded our expectations and delivered a five star Exhale flagship. This was the first perfect opening. Exhale Battery Wharf was the first of 18 that opened smoothly, perfectly, with every program and every system working. I was speechless.”  -- CEO Annbeth Eschbach

Exhale Mind Body Spa is a new fitness, spa and wellness center located at Battery Wharf, a 485,000 square foot, mixed -use development on the Boston Harbor waterfront in the historic North End neighborhood of the city. The 12,000 square foot Exhale Spa was designed and built as an essential business component of the $350 million Battery Wharf development, which consists of  the 150-room Fairmont Hotel, 104 luxury condominiums and 18,000 square feet of retail space. This is the 18th US location for Exhale, and the 1st ever five-star, luxury buildout.

The planning and strategy behind the project, the integrated team execution and delivery, and the five-star quality interior fit-up of the finished project provides significant business benefits to Exhale, the Residences at Battery Wharf, the Fairmont Hotel, and the North End community.

During a compact six-month design and construction phase, the Exhale at Battery Wharf team achieved the client’s aspirations to create a matchless health and wellness environment. To capture the intangible qualities the client was after, Leggat McCall, S3 Design, Elaine Construction, and DLDT Advisors applied a creative team process that extended far beyond conventional project delivery practices.

According to Bryan Dunkelberger of S3 Design, “Together, we measured each decision based on a shared mission to achieve a level of quality, finish and mood that met the expressed business strategy of Exhale. The process encouraged all team members – including the client - to raise what-if questions and to suggest options out of a genuine concern for a better project.”

Exhale CEO AnnBeth Eschbach said, “The finished product is a beautiful expression of modern holistic luxury. It truly marks a first---not just in Boston—but in any US market. This team delivered on the promise---to create a venue that is a first of its kind luxury sanctum that is as modern and authentic and functional as it is spirited and sumptuous.”
